URGENT SEWER SYSTEM ADVISORY
July 08, 2026
Dear LCWD Customers,
Another foreign object was removed from a pump at our sewer ponds lift station today. The item was stuck in
the impeller, causing the pump to work harder and repeatedly trip the overcurrent protection.
Please help protect our sewer system:
ONLY flush human waste and toilet paper. Do NOT flush:
• Wipes of any kind (baby, disinfectant, “flushable”, cleaning, etc.)
• Mop heads, rags, or towels
• Paper towels, tissues, or napkins
• Feminine products, diapers, or cotton swabs
• Grease, oils, or food scraps
These items wrap around pumps, cause backups, and create expensive repairs that affect all customers.
Your toilet is not a trash can. Dispose of all other items in the garbage.
Thank you for helping keep our system running smoothly. Questions? Call (530) 278-6476 or email
info@lcwd1.org.
Sincerely,
Kody Smith
