  • Water System Improvement Project – Seeking Funding

Lassen County Waterworks District No. 1 is actively pursuing grant funding and other financial resources for a major Water System Improvement Project.

Our water system was constructed decades ago and has received minimal upgrades over the years. It currently faces persistent challenges with elevated levels of iron and manganese, which affect water quality, and increase maintenance requirements for both the District and our customers. In addition, our existing water storage capacity is limited, which impacts our ability to meet peak demand and provide reliable service.

As part of this effort, the District is hoping to develop a new production well that draws from a source with better water quality. The proposed project would also include:

    • Installing treatment systems to effectively reduce iron and manganese levels
    • Increasing and upgrading water storage capacity
    • Making targeted infrastructure improvements throughout the distribution system

This project is essential to providing cleaner, better-tasting water and ensuring long-term reliability for our entire community. We will continue working diligently to secure the necessary funding to move these critical improvements forward.
